This beautiful shield-shaped signet ring has been designed and lovingly crafted in our London workshops, measuring approx. 14mm x 13mm and a depth of 1.5mm to the top, the shield shape is a popular signet ring and the ideal ring for seal or surface engraving.

The signet ring is almost certainly the first type of ring made for practical purposes, dating as far back as ancient times.
Up until the end of the Regency period, only gentlemen were entitled to wear signet rings. Each of those rings had a seal which was unique to the gentleman who wore it. Today the tradition of wearing a signet ring with a family crest is still very popular with both ladies and gentlemen, especially in the city of London.
