Real Silver Swallow Brooch Green BRS00071.
This beautiful swallow Brooch has been hand made by British craftsmen from solid hallmarked sterling silver, the body and part of the wings are finished with vivid green jewellers enamel, and set with contrasting sparkling marcasite stones.
Silver Brooch’s were very popular in the Victorian era and were traditionally worn on the left side which was considered correct and sophisticated by people in high society. They are an accessory a lot of us tend to write off as outdated, but now days people are far more creative. Brooch’s such as this real silver swallow Brooch are fast becoming a new trend again with people wanting to make they’re own style statement, are wearing them not only on coat and jacket lapels, scarfs, jeans but even on the sides of handbags etc.
The silver brooch is one of the most fun and versatile piece’s of jewellery that can be strategically placed anywhere on our outfits to give them more of a personal touch, they can be worn singularly in pairs or even in cluster’s, brooches can look really cool when styled right and can make you stand out from the crowd. Try wearing them at different angles to see what suits you best.
Crafted in real silver and fitted with a swivel safety catch this swallow brooch would make a fantastic gift for any occasion or a lovely treat for yourself.
Brooch’s lend elegance and interest to blazers, dresses and tops and create a time-honoured look. The Brooch is definably a conversation-starter.
Art Nouveau is an international style of art, architecture, and applied art, especially the decorative arts, known in different languages by different names. In English it is also known as the Modern Style. The style was most popular between 1890 and 1910. It was a reaction against the academic art, eclecticism and historicism of 19th century architecture and decoration. It was often inspired by natural forms with sinuous curves of plants and flowers such as this Real Silver Swallow Brooch. Other characteristics of Art Nouveau were a sense of dynamism and movement, often given by asymmetry or whiplash lines, and the use of modern materials, particularly iron, glass, ceramics and later concrete, to create unusual forms and larger open spaces.
In my opinion everyone should have several brooch’s to go with different looks, or at least one for casual wear and one for a more formal dress.
