Caring for your peridot necklace.
Peridot is quite soft and has to be treated with care. However, it is a very beautiful colour and if looked after will last a lifetime the gem should be protected from extreme heat and steam cleaning. Also, the use of any harsh chemicals and cleaners should be avoided. It is not safe to clean peridot using ultrasonic cleaners. Use warm, soapy water to clean the gemstone. After cleaning, rinse in fresh water to remove all soapy residue and wipe with a soft cloth to dry.
