Mill grain is a jewellery decoration commonly found on antique jewellery and is now becoming fashionable again due to the beautiful feminine look it gives to the design.
The literal translation for mill grain, a French word, is a thousand grains. When used in connection with jewellery it refers to a decoration on the edges of the surface of a piece of jewellery.
The mill grain decoration is the form of a line of tiny round bead shapes that are raised using a knurling tool and which add intricate detail and gives jewellery an elegant antique look.
