These gorgeous polished 18ct white gold round section round hoop earrings, have a sophisticated look that is perfect for both day and evening wear and would make an ideal gift for any occasion.
The colour of gold is determined by the alloy IE other metals that are alloyed or mixed with it, for instance white gold which is used to make these 18ct White-Gold Hoop Earrings will have 750 parts Gold and small amounts of various other metals alloyed with it in order to make it harder, where as white gold will have silver alloyed with it to make it white in colour and yellow gold will most commonly have smaller percentage of silver copper and zinc to keep its yellow colour, 9 carat yellow gold is often a lighter yellow colour than 18 carat yellow gold, which is more of a rich and intense yellow due to its higher gold content but whatever colour the gold is the percentage of gold will be the same IE.
These are the three carats of gold that I would recommend for white gold jewellery: –
Nine carat gold parts per thousand……………375.
Fourteen carat gold parts per thousand …….585.
Eighteen carat gold parts per thousand …….750.
Twenty-two carat gold parts per thousand…916 does not come in white gold.
Pure gold would be 999.9 percent which is far too soft for making jewellery as it would wear thin very quickly if worn every day, also it would bend and become misshapen very easily which is why other metals are used to alloy with the gold to make it much more robust. I would not recommend buying any gold jewellery other than 9ct, 14ct or 18ct for this reason, apart for may be a very thick wedding ring in no more than 22ct yellow gold, 22ct is not made in 22carat gold.
